PacWest website welcome and tour video

November 23rd, 2009

This summer we worked with popular Snohomish dance studio Pacific West Performing Arts to produce a video for their web site that introduced visitors to PacWest and its offerings.

PacWest director Kelly Charlton reports she receives lots of positive feedback from her web site visitors.

Saucy? Oh yeah.

Saucy? Oh yeah.

My good friend Dawnelle works with Marination Mobile, a fantastic “food truck” in the Seattle-area that was featured on November 21st’s Good Morning America Weekend. GMAW is hosting a contest called the Best Food Cart Challenge and Marination Mobile was one of the four finalists chosen from around the US.

In anticipation of the TV crew’s visit to Ballard to try out Marination Mobile’s cuisine, Dawnelle asked me if I would make her a shirt that said “Saucy”, just in case a shot of her made it into the piece. And Woot! You can see Dawnelle in the segment, apparently performing crowd control, wearing her custom Saucy shirt for all America to see.

UPDATE:  Marination Mobile won Good Morning America Weekend’s Best Food Cart Challenge!  http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerindex?id=9147915 Congratulations!

Dawn of a new era

Wes Plate, Inc. has been resurrected and the web site refreshed as a Wordpress blog.  Wes Plate, Inc. was formed in 2000 when I left my staff editing job at Pinnacle Studios and became a freelance editor.  I was busy during that time, but going freelance did give my dad and I a chance to think more seriously about starting our own software company.

Automatic Duck, Inc. was officially formed in 2001 and started selling its first product in the spring of that year.  At first I continued editing while Automatic Duck was getting off the ground, but eventually the Duck required full time attention so I started turning down all editing gigs and Wes Plate, Inc. stopped doing business in 2003.

Now, six years later, Wes Plate, Inc. is back.  I’ve long missed the creativity of video production and editing, and I’ve been able to work a couple of productions into my spare time.  Then there’s my interest in screen printing which I’ve long had and I finally started to do something about this summer.

Not that I have free time, getting non-Automatic Duck work squeezed in is a challenge, but worth it.
